Suzanne Paris: Bio

Suzanne Paris - Singer Songwriter Guitarist

Suzanne Paris is a singer, songwriter, and musician whose voice always seems to touch the inner soul of her listeners.

This blue-eyed texas bred singer lived, worked, and played in her adopted home state of Colorado during the 1990's.... Aspen Colo. is where she sharpened songwriting and performance skills. While living there Suzanne met & played with many musicians such as Stephen Stills, local band Starwood, David Holster, John Denver, Bo Diddley, The Temptations, John Oates, John Mayer, Joan Osborne, Warren Zevon, Sheryl Crow, Richie Havens, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Buffet, Buddy Miles, members of the Eagles, Dan Fogelberg, Dave Mason (traffic), Mikal Blue (Colbie Calliat) and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. Many of the songs Suzanne later recorded on her CD "Pink Lipstick" were inspired under Aspen's starlight. Soon the call to move to the West coast and Los Angeles
would bring on opportunities that would ultimately begin her solo career.
She moved to Los Angeles and began working with Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dave Mason, singing on a number of tunes. Suzanne's background vocals are featured on Dave's new album "26 letters 12 notes" from label "Out the box records" that Traffic and Dave Mason fans have been anticipating for years.

She did commercials and voice overs with ex-steely Dan/Doobie Bros. guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter who played on her first release "Pink Lipstick" CD just a few years after moving to Californiaf. Pink Lipstick, Suzanne’s debut, brought a vital, magnetic artist whose talent and charisma have become well known to the indie artist network. The 10-song collection is a compelling first effort... offering a combination of raw emotion, and eloquent song craft. this energy is what draws fans to the singer/songwriter/guitarist’s live shows.

Currently, Suzanne has just released a 5-song EP tittled "Off like a prom dress" produced by Dave Mason. The acoustic CD was recorded in Daves home studio in Ojai California during the summer of 2007....these were actually the demos she played for him to listen to...he liked them so much, he made them the final choices for the record. Suzanne lived and worked with Dave and Jim Capaldi (drummer for Traffic) for a year or so (1999-2000) up at the lakehouse in magical Ojai, Ca. that reminded Dave of the house where he wrote many hits from his days in TRAFFIC.
When Capaldi first met Suzanne, he heard a spiritual fire in her voice that he loved and they all connected magically to write many of the songs just released on "Off like a prom dress"....

In a short while, Paris became known in the area as a much respected vocalist and front woman. Intimate live performances have made her key to the Southern California music scene.

This new collection gives insight to her mysterious demeanor. She sings her songs in a gentle, emotive voice that carries a level of depth conveying the sweet depth of satisfaction and elation in a life well-lived.
"Off like a prom dress" is a solo acoustic EP that showcases Suzanne's vocal talents, and paints a new image of Suzanne......"raw unbridled passion carrying the torch of soulful classic rock elements...but wrapped in stardust....." Bill Locey LA Times
